In the run-up to the festive season, Burckhardt Compression held its own celebrations with an open house and tailgate party at the service center in New Iberia, Louisiana. The event, on December 10, highlighted the facilities and expertise available to operators of reciprocating compressors and offered a chance for discussions over a few refreshments.
Located at 7502, Hwy 90 E, 15 miles south of Lafayette, LA, the Burckhardt Compression service center includes a 13,320 sq. ft. workshop that is fully equipped and certified to deliver a comprehensive range of repairs and maintenance projects. The experienced field service teams can support customers with on-site projects including upgrades and complete overhauls as part of a planned maintenance outage or with emergency repairs, keeping downtime to a minimum.
Comprehensive support
Burckhardt Compression’s extensive knowledge covers all brands of compressor and gas engines, enabling the teams to deliver an effective and efficient service to customers. From technical support in fault diagnostics to routine seal replacement and comprehensive refurbishments, the service teams offer a complete range of support. At the New Iberia service center, there is specialist knowledge in Waukesha gas engines and VHP swing engines, as well as most gas compressors.
Ananth Srinivasan, Head of Services US for Burckhardt Compression, states: “Investing in this upgraded service center is a reflection of our commitment to our customers who rely on us to keep their operations running safely and efficiently. With expanded capabilities and a team of highly skilled technicians and engineers, we’re strengthening our ability to deliver world-class maintenance and repair services for reciprocating compressors. We were delighted to open our doors, share our expertise, and celebrate this milestone with our customers.”
At the opening event, customers were able to meet up at the service center and take a tour to see the facilities for themselves as well as meet with field service personnel. Visitors discovered the full range of expertise and technology available to repair and maintain their equipment while enjoying Burckhardt Compression’s hospitality.
New opportunities
The team at New Iberia includes 13 Field Service Representatives (FSRs), who all have a passion for compressors and keeping their customers’ equipment in optimum condition. Their role is predominantly based on site working with compressors and engines to complete inspections, seal replacements, valve rebuilds, major overhauls and refurbishments – in fact, any task that improves the reliability and efficiency of the equipment.
Mitch LeBlanc, Operations Manager, comments: “Demands for field service support have continued to grow recently and we currently have two positions available for experienced technicians to join the team.”
Burckhardt Compression’s open house event saw operators from the surrounding area enjoying local hospitality at the tailgate party and taking tours of the service center’s facilities. Guests left with a sense of connection and a better understanding of how the team can support their work. It was a great way to close out the year in festive style while also helping local businesses plan for the year ahead.
